Run For Your Lives World Tour

Iron Maiden Oslo 2026

Ekebergsletta 2026-06-25 Oslo, Norway

My rating what's this?

Everything is clearly audible, but the flat, space-starved sound sometimes turns distorted and crackly enough to grate on the ear.

Step 1 of 4. What you're looking at

This is a bootleg, not the official live album. The actual night itself, recorded from inside the crowd, with the mistakes and the roar left in. This is the concert as it really sounded, before anyone cleaned it up.

// The bootleg

Everything is clearly audible, but the sound is quite flat and there is little sense of space. At times it seems distorted, with a crackling edge that irritates the ear.

Even with those limitations, I give it an 8.

// Taper's notes

My 5th time seeing the mighty Iron Maiden, and second time on this tour. Typical festival crowd with a lot of clapping, talking and drunks thinking they can out-do Bruce Dickinsons singing. I have news for them: They can't! Bruce's performance really stood out, and the boys were in a great mood. Look out for fantastic World Cup banter from Dickinson before Infinite Dreams. First time ever taping for me, so not ideal location or equipment - but let's face it: It's Maiden! What else do you need? Many thanks to VM for mastering the show for you all to enjoy!

// The night

Iron Maiden headlined the second day of Tons of Rock on the Scream Stage at Ekebergsletta. Nearly 40,000 people gathered in close to 30-degree heat, while water-supply problems led the fire service to bring tankers to the festival. GAFFA described an enormous turnout and a long, technically impressive performance driven by precise guitar solos and Bruce Dickinson's commanding presence.

The rating

The rating is mine, and it is the only quality mark here. The number from 1 to 10 next to a recording is my own listening judgement: how much I enjoy putting it on, everything weighed together.

I do not hand out an "objective" grade, because nobody can grade a live recording objectively. One collector's ears are not another's.

A tape can be clean and still rate lower if it leaves me cold, or rate high in spite of its flaws because it captures the night. Higher means I reach for it more often.

Take it as one ear, then trust your own.
