Run For Your Lives World Tour

Iron Maiden Lyon 2026

Groupama Stadium 2026-06-28 Lyon, France

My rating what's this?

An 8 for the spacious, well-blended balance of a clearly audible band and lively crowd, despite occasional losses of separation.

Step 1 of 4. What you're looking at

This is a bootleg, not the official live album. The actual night itself, recorded from inside the crowd, with the mistakes and the roar left in. This is the concert as it really sounded, before anyone cleaned it up.

// The bootleg

Bruce addresses the crowd in French, giving the show an immediate local touch. The sound is good and you can feel the space of the stadium. Separation can suffer at moments, but the crowd comes through beautifully and everything blends well in the mix.

This is what I love about bootlegs: a decently audible band joined to the reactions of the people who were actually there. I give it an 8.

No power outage. No cancellation due to heat wave. No cancellation due to storms. No warm beer. So just another very good show from Iron Maiden!

// The night

Around 40,000 people gathered at Groupama Stadium in Décines-Charpieu, with Anthrax opening in intense heat. Bruce Dickinson introduced 'Phantom of the Opera' in French and later carried both the British and French flags during 'The Trooper'. Adrian Smith left the stage after the first chorus of 'Run to the Hills', missed 'The Trooper' and returned for 'Hallowed Be Thy Name'. Pavillon 666 reported that the show started twenty minutes earlier than expected as the wind rose ahead of an approaching storm.

The rating

The rating is mine, and it is the only quality mark here. The number from 1 to 10 next to a recording is my own listening judgement: how much I enjoy putting it on, everything weighed together.

I do not hand out an "objective" grade, because nobody can grade a live recording objectively. One collector's ears are not another's.

A tape can be clean and still rate lower if it leaves me cold, or rate high in spite of its flaws because it captures the night. Higher means I reach for it more often.

Take it as one ear, then trust your own.
